Have you ever wondered what your guest might be feeling when they enter your online space and presence?
Have you ever wondered what you could do differently to help your guest feel more welcome when they enter your online space so that they will want to linger and stay awhile and get to know you?
This is what I love to do the most. I love to help women understand the power of their presence and space. When you work with me, I will help you communicate a gracious, warm, friendly presence to your online guest. When your guest leave your website, your instagram post, or your Pinterest post they should feel inspired and empowered to fulfill their goals and dreams.
Your friendly gracious online presence should evoke warmth, comfort, security, readiness to help, and encouragement. A gracious online presence takes “grit and grace” to invite open communication online.
It is sometimes easier to understand a gracious presence in your own home where you meet and greet family and friends everyday. So before I talk to you about the power of your presence in your online space where you will meet and greet total strangers, I want you to look deeper and find out what makes your family and friends to want to be in your company at home?
When you are preparing for your family or friends to arrive at your front door, what is it about your home and YOU that beckons them to enter? Is it beautiful flowers on your front porch? Is it a porch swing filled with inviting pillows? Is it flickering gaslights and a welcoming wreath on the front door? Is it an entryway that immediately offers a place to land where your family and friends are greeted with a smile, a drink and a warm hug? There are so many elements that play into a sense of hospitality and welcome. If you want your home to present comfort, warmth, and security, it all starts where your guest and your family enter.
What matters next is how you greet your guest. The tone of your voice, your choice of words, your smile, your appearance, your readiness to greet them, your enthusiasm, your fun care-free spirit, your laughter, the aroma of a homemade cooked meal or a scented candle all working together at the same time will communicate to your guest when they enter your home whether or not you truly are excited about seeing them and whether or not they feel welcome in your presence. When you have succeeded in helping your guest feel comfortable, warm, and secure in your home and in your presence, the response from your guest will be “thank you for your warm hospitality”. They will want to linger a while longer, and they will look forward to seeing you again.
In your online space, your warm hospitality is called your brand. It is the first impression your guest will think of you online. The first thoughts they thought of you when they first visited your website will come back to their memory. It is like seeing a good friend crossing the street or seeing someone you want to avoid. You recognize a good friend from a far off and you can’t wait to stop and say, “Hi”. If you recognize them as an unfriendly person, you will turn and go the other way.
A warm friendly brand is how you build lasting friendships online.
I have outlined 4 friendly tips that will help you present yourself as a gracious, warm, friendly, hostess to your online guest. I believe being a gracious hostess at home can transfer into a gracious hostess online.
When you consider that your online guest are entering the front door of your website these 4 friendly tips will help your guest feel right at home.
1. CAPTURE THEIR IMAGINATION WITH BEAUTIFUL COLORS, TYPOGRAPHY, PICTURES, AND FRIENDLY WORDS. When your guest enter the front door of your website, your beautiful, soft, feminine color choices, your flowing feminine fonts, your kind friendly words, along with stunning beautiful pictures of you and your brand will capture their interest, their imagination and their eagerness to meet you. Next you will want to greet them with a little welcome box that says, “How can I help? I am here for you!”
2. OFFER YOUR GUEST A FREE GIFT. It is impossible to offer your online guest a drink but you can offer them a free gift. Your guest will sense your eagerness to want to help them and to get to know them on the other side of the screen.
3. ENGAGE YOUR GUEST IN A CONVERSATION WITH YOU. Your website should be easy to navigate and easy to understand. There should be conversation starters to engage your guest in a conversation with you on each page that they enter.
4. LET YOUR GUEST KNOW WHAT SERVICES YOU OFFER, HOW YOU CAN SOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS, AND HOW THEY CAN CONTACT YOU. Your guest should never feel intimidated or afraid to reach out to you.
Being a gracious, warm, friendly hostess online is a gift you give your guest. Your ultimate goal is to serve your guest well so that when they leave your online presence they feel inspired, empowered and motivated.
This is my JB style and my gift to you.
